About The Citadel

Nestled in the heart of St Helens, The Citadel stands as a beacon of cultural and artistic excellence. The building opened in 1861 as a chapel for the United Methodist Free Church, and it has been reshaped several times since, in step with the town around it.

Today it is a fully accessible theatre room with a capacity of 307, a designated wheelchair viewing section, and a car park on Waterloo Street.
